The Client
The Royal Alexandra Hospital is Northern Alberta's largest and busiest hospital. It's currently celebrating it's 125th anniversary.
The Project
Determine the creative direction for the book: fonts, colors, dust jacket and cover/end sheet designs.
The Challenges
The current "Alex" is an inner-city hospital that consists of many different architectural styles dating from the 1940's to the 1990's. The main challenge of the project was to come up with a direction that represents the 125 year history of the hospital.
The Solutions
The solution was to embrace the myriad styles and long history of the hospital in a way that supported the caring and compassion this institution has embodied over 125 years.
